I really like the Dyson DC31 Handheld Vacuum Cleaner, it is very easy to use and hold. It gets right into the corners cleaning out the crumbs and even grout lines in tile. I also used it on the keyboard for my computer, the dust in my table drawers drawers. This handheld is super lightweight, quieter, sturdy and maintenance is just a breeze.

Power Settings

There is two settings for powering it up. I use the  normal  setting to do most of the cleaning . I think the only time I have used the powerful setting is when I was trying to remove the dog hairs that were stuck in the in crevices of my stair treads. Although it is meant to only run for 10 minutes it seems longer when you consider that the unit only runs when you are squeezing the trigger. This is a great power saving feature.

Battery & Charger

Unlike previous models, the DC31 does not come with a bulky charger. I liked the plug-in cord that resembles that of a laptop. They have also incorporated some cool technology in the wall plug that shuts off charging to the battery when it has been charging for  3.5 hours. This means you are less likely to  exhaust your fully charged battery and reduce its lifespan. The 3 hour battery charge gives your 10 minutes of use in normal mode and 6 minutes in super mode.

Manual & Ease Of Use

The manual is very small and is almost entirely covered in pictures.  By just looking at these pictures you know exactly what to do.

Conclusion

It also comes with a  crevice tool that you can use to access those tight spots as well as cobwebs. The Dyson DC31 Handheld works way better than the previous models. It is the perfect companion for anyone who needs to pick up dirt from those hard to reach areas. My only other concern was the price, but I guess it is the price you pay for quality.

Dyson DC35 Digitial Slim Multi Floor Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

The DC35 does a wonderful job on carpet and rugs. The best way to achieve a perfect clean on carpet is when you use the motorized head attached to the vacuum. It cleans small particles, large particles as well as dog and cat hair very easily.

Hardwood Floor Performance

When taken to hard floors such as hardwood and laminates it does an awesome job too. You can even push it all the way to the edge of the floor and floor board and it still cleans amazing. For better results you can use the swivel head feature which easily turns and follows the corners as you require.

Stair Cleaning Performance

The DC35 is very versatile you can even use it to clean stairways. Just remove the wand and attach the handheld to the ball motor.  You can also use the crevice tool for those hard to reach areas and once again the vacuum was able to easily clean all the dirt in these areas. It also comes with the upholstery brush and you can use this for your couches and any cushions.

Low Clearing Performance

This is an added advantage to the DC35. If you reattach the long reach wand you will be able to easily clean areas that are hard to reach such as under your couches. It easily glides into these areas so you can now clean under there without having to move around the furniture just run the wand down and let it do its job.

Noise And Filtration Quality

The DC35 is not very quiet in both modes modes. Regardless of whether you put it in the regular or the maximum power mode. The filter is very descent and when we used the laser particle scanner to check for particles from the exhaust there where indeed some dirt particles coming out of there.

Maintenance

When it come to emptying the canister and cleaning the filter it is pretty simple to do. You only need to clean the filter once every month. To clean the filter you just simply press the big blue button on the top of the vacuum and opposite the canister you will see a blue tab, which if you pull on you will remove the filter from the vacuum. You can then wash it and replace it. When it comes to emptying the canister, just place the vacuum over a bin and then push the red button on the bottom left hand side. The bottom will automatically open and empty the contents of the canister.
